Sometimes buying a preloved item has a negative connotation. The most common concern is knowing if an item is authentic or not. However, we have found many preloved items in practically brand new condition. In addition, you can also find vintage or hard to get items for a fraction of the price. Here are some of our favorite accounts on Instagram that are experts in authenticity and that we recommend:
JuliaRoseBoston – This account sells Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Goyard, Gucci and more! Products range from handbags, scarves and shoes. Alyssa purchased a vintage Dior handbag from her and the transaction was smooth, and trustworthy. Janae also purchased a brand new Louis Vuitton scarf that was about 30% off retail!
LVLenka – This account sells a lot of Louis Vuitton items for less. We’ve seen a plethora of handbags featured here, and her prices are really hard to say no to. Alyssa purchased a hard to find wallet, but we’ve also seen excellent condition handbags for 30-40% off retail.
Webuydesigner – We have never purchased items from this London based retailer, but have only heard great things.
Fashionphile – We are constantly stalking this site for good deals. The great part about this website is that you can favorite items and if an item is still listed after 30 days, they discount the item even further. I’ve seen Chanel and Louis Vuitton handbags that are thousands of dollars off of retail! Alyssa purchased a Christian Dior strap to match her Dior saddlebag and it’s perfect.
Discount Designer Stores
Amuze, Inc – This company bargains with high end retailers and sells clothing, handbags, sunglasses and shoes at a discount! Some items are from a previous season, but most are classic items or from the current season. Janae recently purchased these Valentino sandals at 30% off retail! Pro tip: Follow their account on Instagram as they constantly post what’s for sale there. Their website has limited items shown.
Luxe_Hunt – This company also posts a lot of discount designer shoes and handbags on their website. We are constantly checking their site out for good deals on Gucci, Louis Vuitton, and more.
Department Stores
Saks – If you subscribe to get emails from Saks Fifth Avenue, they often have promotions like the one below. While this deal does not work on all luxury items, this does work on Saint Laurent. You can get a $1200 handbag for $300 off! In addition, if you combine this with a cash back deal on ShopStyle, you can add to the savings even further.
Shopstyle – Shopstyle (aka Rakuten) is an amazing cash back website that features retailers of all kinds. Saks Fifth Avenue is one of the retailers, and we’ve seen the cash back up to 20%! All you have to do is open an account and shop through their link. Full disclosure: the cash back you earn is distributed on a quarterly basis. Nordstrom – The Nordstrom Rewards program offers “Notes” based on how much you purchase. Sometimes they have a deal where you get 10 points per dollar, which equates to about 10% value in notes. While you can’t get cash back on this, it is pretty cool having money to spend on future items. Additionally, occasionally Nordstrom will have a deal that’s not publicized widely, but through word of mouth. For example, earlier in the year there was a ‘secret’ 10% off anything deal going on. Janae was able to score her Saint Laurent Loulou bag with that discount.
Farfetch – Farfetch is a retail platform that sells for hundreds of international boutiques and brands. If you’re a first time buyer from Farfetch, you can sign up to their emails and receive 10% off your first purchase. The items usually arrive from Europe and get to your house within days. Janae was able to buy Golden Goose sneakers using the 10% off discount.
